Nursing: FNP Site Visitor in Evansville, Indiana

School of Nursing

Position Summary: This Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Site Visitor position will provide support to the Family Nurse Practitioner Program with a variety of tasks related to students and preceptors within the clinical setting.

Reporting Relationships: This position is placed in the School of Nursing and reports to the Assistant Dean, Nurse Practitioner Programs, SON

Education Requirements:

·Master in Science Nursing

·Certification as an Family Nurse Practitioner

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Complete faculty site visits to FNP students as assigned.

2.Site visitors always have the option to accept or deny a request to make a site visit.

3.Observe students within the clinical setting.

4.Confer with the preceptor regarding students’ progress.

5.Evaluate students’ progress within the clinical setting.

6.Assess the appropriateness of preceptor and clinical setting.

7.Complete a Faculty Evaluation form for the student.

8. Complete a Faculty Evaluation of the Preceptor and Clinical Site form.

9.Submit all evaluations to the course facilitator and gradnur.forms@indwes.edu.

6.Ability to professionally handle confidential information

7.Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with students, faculty and preceptors

8.Excellent written, oral, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.

9.Problem-solving skills

10.Able to positively represent IWU School of Nursing to the public.
