Assistant Professor in Education Part-time Position

Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education

The Elementary and Early Childhood Education Department at The College of New Jersey is seeking applications for a 10-month, full-time (1.0) temporary faculty position in elementary or early childhood education starting in August, 2019. The successful candidate will be required to perform all duties of a full-time (1.0) faculty member. These responsibilities may include: teach undergraduate/graduate courses (day and/or evening courses); supervise student teachers; advise students; and participate in service to the department, school, and/or College.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have at least a master’s degree in education or a related field (e.g., educational psychology, science education, mathematics education, art education, etc…) or a Ph.D. or Ed.D. (or A.B.D. status) in education or a related field, at least three years of excellence in teaching at the P-6 level, and have a strong commitment to the education of undergraduates. Other desired areas that will be given preference are candidates who have experience or expertise in: college teaching, multicultural education, ESL/Bilingual education, content area literacy, classroom assessment, human development, educational technology, environmental and/or sustainability education, educational technology, or STEAM Education.

Applicants are encouraged from all areas of education or content specific education related fields; we are especially interested in those with experience with P-6 topics in STEAM or Language Arts and the preparation of prospective elementary and early childhood teachers.
