We invite candidates to apply for our Dean of Arts and Letters. The Academic Dean serves as a leader, mentor, and role model to personnel and manager of procedures and processes in assigned areas.  The Dean will coordinate activities and work to resolve faculty and student issues related to assigned areas and will collaborate with personnel from across the college and community in support of the College mission. The Dean of Arts and Letters provides administrative oversight to the Arts and Letters discipline areas. Additionally, the Dean of Arts and Letters oversees the Center for Teaching and Learning and Testing Services. The Dean of Arts and Letters is responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core value of Service Excellence: Respect, Competence, Responsiveness, and Collaboration in all interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:

Minimum: Master’s degree in English, literature, speech, psychology, political science, sociology, humanities, or related field.

Preferred: Doctoral degree in English, literature, speech, psychology, political science, sociology, humanities, higher education administration, curriculum and instruction, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a college environment that includes a minimum of three (3) years of college-level teaching experience and a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience at the level of Assistant Department Chair or above or equivalent.

Preferred: Experience with the Florida College System and SACSCOC or other regional accreditation agency policies and procedures.
