Duties and ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the District Director – Academic Systems & Student Records, an Academic Systems Analyst is accountable for managing projects and assignments that support and maintain CCC’s academic systems, working in close collaboration with the Registrar’s Office, IT staff and key administrators to ensure academic systems and processes provide users with accurate student records and academic program data.As a project manager, the Academic Systems Analyst develops to business and functional requirements to support academic operations, coordinating work efforts with college administrators, vendors and IT staff in the upgrading and installation of new systems; system configuration and set up; testing and documentation of modules within Campus Solutions, the CCC Portals (student, advising, and faculty), and related systems. Performs related duties as required. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 
  • Provides technical expertise and oversight of projects relating to the updating and maintenance of Campus Solutions, with a focus on the Student Records and Academic Advising modules, ensuring applications developed and processes created return predictable and accurate results in support of CCC’s policies and goals. 
  • Works with users/business partners in determining the feasibility of requests, defining business needs and deliverables, and developing solutions to meet data and reporting needs and requirements.Academic Systems Analyst2 
  • Leads and participates on projects relating to new systems or upgrading of existing systemsincluding system testing and validation for enhancements and customizations of academicsystems. 
  • Provides troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution for PeopleSoft CampusSolutions modules (Student Records, Academic Advising, and Campus Community), andensures the integrity of the official system of record, student records. 
  • Performs systems analysis (including evaluation/testing of system updates), requiringevaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, research, anddata analysis for key academic systems. 
  • Leads/consults on the development and execution of testing related activities to diagnose,test, and solve problems or find improvements. 
  • Builds and maintains the catalog of academic programs, program statuses/colleges, andprogram (completion) requirement for all Careers and Programs in the Campus Solutions 9system. 
  • Maintains and updates a variety of data tables, and ensures appropriate and correct data ismaintained in reporting databases used in District-wide analysis and decision making 
  • Applies knowledge of systems, policies, and business processes and data flow to improvedata quality and reports, enhance current measures, and to develop solutions to newmeasurement needs. 
  • Analyzes and evaluates curriculum changes and changes in academic programs toconfigure and maintain the accuracy and reliability of academic requirements andassociated reports. 
  • Ensures that all necessary approvals and documentation are obtained and on file for allupdates and corrections. 
  • Provides recommendations to improve the functionality of PeopleSoft Campus Solutionssystem and other related systems(s), in alignment with policy and business processes. 
  • Uses PS Query tools to create and run queries to ensure operational compliance, data orsystem validation, or to detect and isolate problems and issues to address and correct.


Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration,Education, Management Information Systems, or a related field.A Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Two years of work experience in a higher level education Registrar’s Office as an AssociateRegistrar or comparable administrative position highly desirable. 
  • A combination of education and experience may be taken into consideration based on the applicant’s credentials, provided the minimum degree requirement is met. 
  • Understanding of student records (registrar, enrollment management), academic program requirements, student services, and/or academic advising required 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relational databases knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9 and other key systems and applications such as GradesFirst, Portals, and Degree Map application (Civitas) highly desirable 
  • Experience capturing and modeling/mapping business requirements, and working with business partners to assure delivery of quality solutions highly desirable. 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
