Overview

Participate in the design, development and operation of state of the art instrumentation and control systems in support of a wide range of current and future projects at PPPL.



Responsibilities

  • Develop, Maintain, Support software in a Linux environment.
  • Daily operation and maintenance of Plant Control and Monitoring System.
  • Computer Administration.
  • Embedded System development and support.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
Computing Competencies include:

Experience with programming languages: C,C++, python
Experience with Linux administration: (Redhat, CentOS)
Experience with Ethernet protocols (TCP, UDP)
Exposure to Version control Software (SVN, GIT)
Exposure to National Instruments LabView

Practical experience using standard off the shelf test equipment:

Digital Volt Meter

Oscilloscope

  • Ability to work with a diverse set of scientists, engineers and technical staff with varying skill levels and backgrounds
  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills
