Overview

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a technical support position in the lab of Professor Edgar Choueiri.



Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for setting up experiments in audio and acoustics. Duties include purchasing, maintaining the lab infrastructure, tools and equipment and overseeing lab safety.



Qualifications

Candidates must have working knowledge of digital processors and networking, digital signal processing, audio transducers, microphones, amplifiers and analog audio systems. Programming in C, C++. Working knowledge of Unix and Mac OS. Ability to solve problems, support research and work with students on projects.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field, have the ability to work well within a team and have excellent organizational and communication skills. Advanced degree is preferred.

This is a 6 month term position with the possibility of renewal for up to one year pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
