Founded in 1923, Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) is a public university located in Nacogdoches, Texas, and is one of four independent public universities in Texas. Though the university is located in the rural east Texas college town of Nacogdoches, the vast majority of SFA students come from the greater Houston or Dallas-Fort Worth areas. SFA has also served students from 46 states outside Texas and 42 countries outside the United States. SFA enrolls more than 13,000 students, offering 120 areas of study, including more than 80 undergraduate majors, nearly 60 graduate degrees, and three doctoral programs through its six colleges. The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks are members of the Southland Conference and compete in Division I for all varsity sports.

Reporting to the vice president for university affairs, the director, auxiliary services, is responsible for the overall operation and management of student services and auxiliary functions for Stephen F. Austin State University, including residence life, printing services, graphic shop, ID card services, summer camps and conferences, post office, testing services, and the Baker Pattillo Student Center. The director serves as liaison to major contracts and vendors, including the bookstore and dining services; provides vision, leadership, management, student development insights, customer service enrichment, and contract supervision for assigned revenue enterprises of the university, and develops coordinated short-term and long-range goals and projected outcomes for the departments under supervision, unifying the strategic direction of each and assessing the success of the plans. The director oversees and budget of $ $31.6 million and directly supervises four full-time staff.

A master’s degree in business administration, accounting, education, student affairs, or a related field and at least eight years of related experience are required. In addition, experience in auxiliary operations management in higher education, including budgetary and personnel management and multi-level revenue generation, are required. Experience with supervision of the departments reporting to this position, strategic planning, assessment, and crisis management and response are preferred.
