Goshen College seeks applicants for a .75 FTE Assistant or Associate Professor of Spanish (with full-time benefits) to begin August 2019. There is potential for the successful hire to be considered for a 1.0 FTE position in the future.  Responsibilities may include teaching all levels of Spanish courses in grammar, culture and literature.

The Spanish Program:

The Spanish program boasts the highest number of minors at GC. Students will have the chance to learn Spanish abroad and locally: the Goshen community offers numerous off-campus volunteer organizations that use Spanish exclusively, as well as opportunities to interact with native Spanish speaking families in their homes. Spanish majors live two semesters abroad in countries like Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Cuba and Spain. GC’s unique one-year residency requirement will have students not only speaking Spanish fluently, but also understanding the cultures where Spanish is spoken and feeling prepared for an increasingly multicultural U.S. society and world. By the time they graduate, students will be prepared to use Spanish in their future workplace or while serving abroad. Recent GC Spanish graduates are working with displaced Colombian refugees in Quito, Ecuador, with a nonprofit peace and justice organization in Mexico City, and with elementary school students in Guatemala.
