Responsibilities:

The Dean of Students is responsible for student wellness and safety and serves as the Senior Conduct Officer at Alfred University. The Dean of Students oversees the conduct system; Wellness Center, which includes Health, Counseling, and Wellness Education Services; Public Safety; the emergency response system for the University; and compliance with state and federal laws pertaining to student well being and safety. The Dean of Students runs Monday Morning emergency response meetings and the Behavior Assessment Team, and serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Daily positive contact with students is expected. The Dean will engage students in the residence halls, in the dining halls, and at a variety of events, and will serve as an advocate for students.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Student Personnel; Higher Education Administration or related area.
Outstanding interpersonal arid communication skills, including giving presentations to a wide range of audiences as well as a strong student-focused orientation. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build alliances and to lead through a period of rapid change and growth. Impeccable ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality. Experience supervising and leading professional staff.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years experience in the administration of student service programs preferred, including several years at an upper administrative level. Must have experience with student conduct, emergency response, and crisis management.
