This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced organization dedicated to redefining teacher education. We seek passionate, entrepreneurial, and creative colleagues who are ready to try new approaches and collaborate as we continue to refine our competency-based program, including developing new program offerings, iterating on our existing model, and supporting research and practice partnerships. We are currently seeking a professional with the knowledge and expertise needed to prepare high school biology and chemistry teachers and a passion for supporting the development, testing, and implementation of an innovative curriculum. This is a remarkable opportunity to bridge the worlds of higher education and teacher preparation in actual schools.

We are looking for an individual with deep knowledge of science content and pedagogy and a passion for and experience in K-12 teaching, curriculum development, and mentoring novice teachers. A Ph.D. in Science Education is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate also will have experience incorporating computational thinking in STEM learning as well as a background in learning design.

The anticipated faculty opportunity is a full-time, renewable twelve-month appointment, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and offers competitive compensation and benefits. The position includes significant opportunities for professional development and engagement with national educational leaders. To apply, please send a cover letter, CV and any additional material that will help us understand why you would be a great member of our team. We will accept applications until the position is filled. Materials should be directed to Catherine Kinyua, Program Assistant, WW Academy of Teaching and Learning, kinyua@woodrowacademy.org. Please put “Science Educator” in the title of your email.
