Position Summary

Manage fiscal and administrative oversight for $30M in sponsored research activity. The Grants Manager handles post-award administrative aspects of all grants and other sponsored research projects. Provide Principle Investigators with guidance and administrative support. Work with the University central departments includes Sponsored Projects Administration to ensure the financial report submissions are accurate, complete, up-to-date, timely, and compliant with the University policies and sponsor’s terms and conditions. Oversee and manage department’s funding portfolio in addition to monitoring and reconciling expenditures to the University’s financial systems. Serve as liaison between the department and central university offices, federal, state, local, corporate agencies and private foundations keeping faculty and project directors abreast of both internal and external policies.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's DegreeRequired Experience:5+ years Experience sponsored research administration experience. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, follow through, confidence, and flexibility required.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting sponsored projects (e.g., Uniform Guidance) including research, technical assistance, professional development, consulting, etc.; the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders including faculty, students, and department, school and university administrators.
