The Grounds seasonal employee must be able to perform all grounds maintenance & landscaping tasks for Sheridan College. Report to grounds supervisor with support from full time grounds personnel.

•Good Conduct and Academic Standing with the college
•Sheridan College Student currently enrolled
•Cumulative GPA is 2.0 or greater

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Understanding of grounds care, chemical usage, and grounds equipment operation and maintenance
•Understanding of pesticides, herbicides, horticulture, tree care, mulching, fencing
•Operation of equipment, string trimmers, chain saw, hedge shears, blowers and lawn mowing equipment, snow blower, hand tools, etc.
•Communication skills required
•Computer skills
•Ability to organize work tasks and work independently
•Establish a safe working environment
•Ability to relate to others in a safe and positive manner
•Wear proper attire for safety and appearance

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Lift 50 lbs.
•Outdoor work with exposure to all elements-heat, rain, snow, ice, dust, mud, etc.
