POSITION TITLE: Extended Campuses Student Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Office of Student Activities
REPORTS TO: Extended Campuses Activities Specialist

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Welcome students and answer questions about college and/or OSA and provide excellent customer service to those coming into our office being the front-line person.
2.Provide coverage at Romeoville Campus events sponsored by OSA
3.Occasionally provide coverage at City Center campus events sponsored by OSA (large events)
4.Assist in preparation, set up, take-down, and clean-up of OSA programs (including balloons, decorations and popcorn machine)
5.Maintain postings on college bulletin boards, pillar boards, and arrow signs for campus-wide activities and events. (including decorating bulletin boards for visual appeal)
6.Keep racks of college literature filled
7.Create flyers, brochures, banners and other promotional materials for OSA programs
8.Create monthly calendars of events on bulletin boards
9.Use creativity, and networking to market programs and inform students of events (costumes are always a possibility)
10.Run departmental errands
11.Complete light office duties (file, make copies, maintain resource library and organize as needed)
12.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Ability to work at Romeoville Campus
2.Excellent communication skills
3.Self-motivated with ability to take initiative but also work as a team player
4.Personable, respectful, responsible and creative
5.Computer skills necessary (being a fast learner is not a yes to this requirement).
6.Familiarity with Social Media venues: Snap Chat, Instagram, Twitter and ability to use creativity when posting online
7.Must like to work in a fast paced environment where you are required to be proactive and able to multitask

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Previous knowledge of Romeoville campus
2.Experienced with publishing software (Publisher and Photoshop preferred)
3.Knowledge of college resources helpful but training will be provided
4.Ability to write legibly on arrow signs and entrance signs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Walking and some lifting required
•Climbing on ladders on occasion is also required

WORKING CONDITIONS
•There are inside and outside events held through our department.

They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.

This information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
