ESL Program Specialist

The following position requires familiarity with the community college philosophy, and the ability to work within a culturally diverse college population.

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: ELI/Workforce Development and Community Education

RESPONSIBILITIES: The ESL Program Specialist manages designated ESL programs and courses on and off-campus, including testing, aspects of enrollment management, and faculty coordination. The portfolio includes the shared responsibility for management and advising of international (F-1) student enrollment, with comprehensive off-site training as required. As a member of ELI administrative team, s/he will also assist with special projects and grants; and manage routine and emergency communications with faculty and students. Regular evening and some Saturday program coverage is required. Local travel is also required to off-campus program sites.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a BA degree and 2 years of experience in education is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Additional preferred qualifications include TESOL training, program coordination experience and experience in contextualized ESL course design. Advanced Spanish proficiency is also preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $63,219 plus competitive benefits.
