Instructor of Cybersecurity (Tenure-Track)

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Computer Information Technologies Department/ The School of Business and Professional Careers

TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Instructor of Cybersecurity: Tenure-Track (*Search Re-opened)

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Computer Information Technologies Department seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Instructor position to teach a range of courses in Cybersecurity and Computer Information Systems. The position requires teaching 15 contact hours plus a minimum of five office hours per week. In addition, the Instructor is responsible for updating and developing courses, curricula, and assessment methods; providing academic and career advisement to students; providing work assignments to hourly employees; assisting in the maintenance and upgrade of Cybersecurity labs; and aiding curriculum marketing and recruitment efforts. The Instructor is expected to participate in departmental, school and college-wide committees, initiatives and events and to keep abreast of technological, industry, and higher education trends affecting the curriculum, including participating in professional development activities and acquiring and maintaining industry certifications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a closely related field required. One year of college level teaching experience also required. Knowledge of Linux, Windows Server Environments, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment required. Industry-recognized IT/Cybersecurity certifications required. Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with women and underrepresented minority students through teaching, mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of industry-related experience strongly preferred.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2019

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $64,841 plus excellent benefits.
