JOB SUMMARY

Assists the Head Coachwith the coaching and supervision of Women’s Soccer Program and its studentathletes and staff. Assists with theorganization of practices, recruiting athletes, and other duties as required byHead Coach. This position reports to the Head Coach.

ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with recruiting.
  • Be able to demonstrate soccer skills and tactics to players
  • Be able to assist with and/or run training sessions
  • Assist with team meetings
  • Assess student skills
  • Work with the Head Coach in organizing practice time to develop to provide both individual and team development
  • Observe students during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement
  • Maintain standards of student athlete behavior and provides supervision of the athletes when required
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury
  • Follow state, regional, local and college regulations governing the athletic program
  • Model good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials and spectators
  • Follow established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies and uniforms
  • Attend staff development and/or other professional activities to improve coaching performance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

    At least two years’ experience as a player at the high school,club, or college level preferred. Experienceas an assistant soccer coach at the high school or college level preferred. Mustpossess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, andtechniques of the sport. Must possessthe ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with theHead Coach and student athletes. Workingknowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Must be positive, cooperative and supportive.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Additionally, the following physical abilitiesare required:

    • Standing,walking, bending, stooping
    • Visualacuity
    • Hearing,speaking
    • Lifting(i.e. athletic equipment)

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    College campus, outdoor/indoor soccer venues, athletic trainingfacility; travel to sports events/games and/or as required for recruitingstudent athletes. Part-Time, Seasonal (Aug 1 – Nov 30), 20 hours per week.
