Description

The Training and Application Specialist will be responsible for the training program for the practice management and related systems, insurance and third party billing; including but not limited to curriculum, manuals, schedules, and evaluations. The incumbent is also responsible for serving as a liaison between the user community, Operations Management and the TUP I.T. Department, maintaining accurate data dictionaries, assist in researching application issues, participates in new application installs, perform quality assurance reviews and serves as a help desk representative. Position must develop ongoing rapport and communicate with internal and external contacts to provide highly complex technical information and service; assess and anticipate recurring customer needs, understand, influence and achieve internal project/work goals.

The essential functions of the training and application specialist position are:

    

  • Conduct effective and efficient training classes using creativity and innovation
  • Maintain the data dictionaries used by Centricity Business.
  • Develop and publish bi-monthly newsletter.
  • Maintain the curricula for training sessions geared to the specific objectives of the Temple Health and adherence to TUP/TPI/TU/TUHS policies and procedures
  • Maintain documentation to be used in training sessions and/or distribute to all billing and management areas
  • Collaborate with Management, Department Administrators, Billing Managers and Practice Managers to identify special training needs
  • Maintain training schedule and distribute training confirmations
  • Maintain mechanisms to assess the level of success of the training programs for individuals and for meeting the objectives of Temple University Physicians
  • Provides auditing of new users to ensure system utilization is accurate and consistent with TUP policies and procedures
  • Assist with system upgrades, revisions, customizations / installation of new applications/modules/functions/activities
  • Assist with data entry related to the setup of new software program, and revisions to existing programs
  • Assist in investigating and resolving Help Desk issues as they are identified and determine course of action for resolution
  • Assist with maintaining master schedules and appointment types
  • Maintain an open communication line with Vendor’s, Management, TUHS, TU and staff members at all levels
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
  • Required Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree in related field and at least one year of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

      

    Required Skills & Abilities:

    *Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills

    *Proven ability to provide effective technology support to end users

    *Ability to manager I/T within classroom and medical billing environments

     Preferred:

    * At least two years’ experience in a medical billing environment.
