This position instructs graphic design courses in an undergraduate BFA program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching all levels of graphic design in a primarily print-based curriculum.
- Teaching interactive media and web-based applications.
- Occasionally teaching foundations and service courses depending on program and school needs.
- Engagement in recruiting and program and school service.
- Advising and mentoring majors.
- Create a record of recognized creative/scholarly work and develop a body of work in their field of expertise suitable for tenure and promotion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MFA or equivalent in graphic design, visual communications, or interactive design from an accredited institution. Demonstrated ability to engage in effective teaching in higher education. Ability to create a record of recognized creative/scholarly work and ability to develop a body of work suitable for tenure and promotion
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency on Macintosh Platform and Adobe C.
Preference is given to candidates who specialize in information design and typography. Three years of professional work or related teaching experience and the university level is preferred.
