Student Employment Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

The Student Employment Coordinator will oversee a new program to provide IWU student employees with professional development training throughout the year. This role will secure speakers and spaces for professional development workshops. The Coordinator will also oversee the Accelerate Indiana Internship program and build relationships with Indiana employers. This position is funded by a Lilly Endowment grant.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide a variety of career readiness services for university departments and 1,400 IWU student workers Build and maintain relationships with campus employers and assist in assessment processes of student work performance Provide opportunities to advertise student job listings on campus Assist students in developing their resumes as a requirement for application to campus jobs Guide students in the development of their Handshake and LinkedIn profiles Secure employer sponsors to sustain the Student Employment Training program after grant funding expires Develop online materials to sustain professional development training post-grant Facilitate on-campus employment opportunities Coordinate Federal Work Study community partners Train on-campus supervisors regarding FERPA, Work Study, and hiring requirements Inventory student employment records Plan annual student employee banquet to recognize their work Oversee Accelerate Indiana Internship program Approve payroll for paid student employees and paid interns Represent the Career Development office at Visit Days and New Student Registration – some nights and weekends
