Position Summary

James Madison College, a residential college of public affairs at Michigan State University, invites applications for an instructor to teach one section of MC281, “Immigrants, Minorities and American Pluralism” for the Spring of 2020. This course is a required sophomore course for the Social Relations and Policy (SRP) major.

With an enrollment limited to 1200 students, James Madison College is noted for its excellence in undergraduate education, rigorous academic standards, and attention to the analytical, writing and speaking skills of its students. The faculty currently teaching in the Social Relations and Policy (SRP) major hold doctorates in sociology, history, American studies, African American studies and public policy.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D. or is an advanced Ph.D. student preferred. The successful candidate would ideally have training in History of race, ethnicity and/or immigration, with an interdisciplinary focus. The successful candidate should also be passionate about undergraduate teaching.
