Position Summary
The Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of part-time fixed-term assistant professors. These positions will be filled per course/per semester, on an as needed basis. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as May 16, 2019.
Duties: Responsibilities include:
Teaching undergraduate courses in any of the sub-fields of the Anthropology Department, including socio-cultural, anthropological linguistics, medical anthropology, physical and forensic anthropology, and archaeology.
Courses may also include those that are part of the department’s Integrated Studies in the Social Sciences offerings.
Courses may include classroom, online, or hybrid sections.
Required Degree
Doctorate -Anthropology
Minimum RequirementsExperience teaching at the college level.
Desired QualificationsDemonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred.
