Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching
-Effectively teach a range of nutrition undergraduate courses including, but not limited to Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, Nutrition in Childhood and Adolescence, Introduction to Foods, Diet Therapy, Applications in Community and Medical Nutrition, and Local Market Agriculture.
-Provide timely feedback to students.

Service
-Provide engaged service at the Department, School, and University levels.
-Participate in student recruitment and retention initiative for the department and school.
-Serve as a student-centered advisor.

Scholarship
-Maintain appropriate scholarly or professional development activity, and provide expertise in the area of nutrition.

Leadership
-Contribute to the continuing innovation and development of the minor.
-Play a significant role in the assessment, evaluation, and quality enhancement in the minor in nutrition.
-Participate in, manage, or lead major initiatives or projects (sustained or one-time projects) that facilitate program, school, University and/or faculty performance, as required.

Minimum Required Education

Doctoral Degree (ABD considered) from an accredited institution in Nutrition, or a related field. Registered Dietitian preferred.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications

Registered Dietitian preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

-Doctoral Degree (ABD considered) from an accredited institution in Nutrition, or a related field. Registered Dietitian preferred.
-Ability to teach at the university level.
-Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
-Student-centered.

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with assessment and/or school improvement at the university level.
-Familiarity with Blackboard learning management system.
-Online course development and teaching experience.
-Ability to foster student learning through innovative teaching practices.
-Ability to work within a collaborative university environment.
-Commitment to student engagement activities and student academic success.
-Commitment to diversity and inclusion consistent with the University's mission.
-Potential for scholarly contributions to the field and professional development activities.
