Finally, the instructor will be expected to help contribute to publications and presentations highlighting the innovations of the JBME design program.

The Teaching Assistant Professor will provide instruction and technical support for undergraduates in both upper level and introductory level design courses (i.e., from sophomore through senior-year). These courses will include one or more of the following areas of BME: Sophomore Design, Junior Design, and Senior design. The Teaching Assistant Professor will be expected to work with local industry, academic, and healthcare professionals to help build the BME Design Program. The individual must work productively and collaboratively with all design instructors at both institutions, as well as the Director of the BME Design Program, and with all constituent BME entities, i.e. UNC College of Arts and Sciences, UNC School of Medicine and the NC State College of Engineering. The Teaching Assistant Professor will be expected to assist with the creation and dissemination of any novel educational or pedagogical techniques or observations. Conference travel may be required. The individual will be expected to assist with the preparation of materials for ABET accreditation. The instructional load for this position will be 2 to 3 courses per semester for a total of 4 to 6 courses taught each academic year. The course load may be split between UNC and NC State.
