The Department of Education announces a search for a one-year position at the visiting assistant professor rank, beginning August, 2019. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for strong teaching in the liberal arts tradition and show a potential for scholarly engagement. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and scholarly interests in education, but outstanding applicants in other fields are encouraged to apply. A doctoral degree in Education is preferred by the time of appointment. The department encourages applications from candidates whose teaching, scholarship, or service would contribute to the diversity of the campus curriculum and community.


We seek a candidate trained in quantitative or qualitative methods with a strong commitment to social justice who can teach all levels of undergraduate students. We will also consider outstanding candidates in other fields. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for strong teaching and research and will be expected to teach a 3-3 course load including educational psychology, social foundations of education, classroom assessment, and electives in the pre-service and educational studies minor programs.
