Job SummaryThe Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for two Temporary Lecturers of Biology. These positions are 10 month, non-tenure track appointments that report to the Chair of the Department of Biology. The successful candidates will be expected to begin on August 1, 2019 and will end on May 31, 2020. Salaries will be commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable programs. In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, proof of authorization to work in the U.S. will be required at the time of hire.
- Teach Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II with lab and Introductory Biology I and II and labs.
- Participate in service to Department, School, University and community.
Successful candidates will have a doctoral or masters degree in Biology or related field. Other required qualifications include the ability to teach lower level human anatomy and physiology courses and labs and lower level non-major biology courses and labs. Additionally, successful candidates will have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
For the lecturer appointments the candidates must have a masters degree in Biology or related field with 18 graduated hours of course work in the biological sciences.Preferred Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Biology or related field is preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent college teaching experience, experience with diverse student populations, the ability and desire to teach human anatomy and physiology courses, experience in using educational technology and innovative teaching methods in the classroom.
