The faculty from the grant entitled Interdisciplinary Leadership in Autism Spectrum Disorders: Optimizing Research-Practice Partnerships for Evidence-Based Outcomes seek one qualified candidate for a one-year, postdoctoral training fellowship. The program is a collaborative between the Colleges of Education and Medicine and is funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services. The postdoctoral program provides an opportunity for one fellow to participate in a program of study linked directly to on-going research activities, supported by individualized learning opportunities including potentially advanced statistical and methodological training, and culminating in individualized programs of applied academic and/or social behavior research. The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with scientists across both colleges to acquire advanced applied research competencies by working on current and future research programs in the areas of the candidate’s interest. The applicant must work closely with a primary mentor, from the three participating academic programs at UNC-CH, whose research interests align well with the fellow’s.

Educational Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Qualified applicants must have a completed Ph.D. with a major emphasis in special education, occupational science, or speech and hearing sciences by December, 2019 (or at the latest May, 2020).

Qualifications and Experience

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who took part in the above mentioned Leadership Grant and who have documented experience and interest in conducting research related to applied areas of study within speech and hearing sciences, occupational science, and/or early childhood special education.
