The Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) provides opportunities and resources for nurses with different educational and experiential backgrounds to maintain and expand their knowledge, skills and competencies to meet their current and future needs in nursing practice, education, and research. The CLL offers a variety of delivery models to include face-to-face, hybrid, webinars, and enduring online learning. The CLL is credentialed as a Provider with Distinction, through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to award Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours.

This position will develop and oversee CNE offerings to include planning, implementation, and evaluation of CNE programs in all delivery models, while maintaining ANCC requirement. This position will also assist in administrative operational duties. This position requires exceptional organizational skills with attention to details. It also requires superior customer service skills and the ability to communicate with many types of individuals from diverse cultures and educational backgrounds. The Nurse Planner/Program Manager will be oriented to the role, advised, supervised, and kept current of ANCC policies.

This position works directly with the Director/Lead Nurse Planner (LNP) and the Business Officer for all activities. These activities include, yet not limited to: spearheading quality improvement efforts related to program outcomes, maintain program planning within the budget for department financial sustainability, planning, implementing, and evaluating CNE programs within the ANCC requirements, collaborating with the CLL team, School of Nursing (SON) faculty members, and community partners to accomplish the goals and objectives of CLL.

Educational Requirements

Master’s degree in nursing is required and 1 or more year of experience in adult education, staff development, and/or faculty development.
The Nurse Planner/Program Manager will exemplify high quality customer service
A current, active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required for this position OR possession of a multi-state RN license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (e-NLC).

Qualifications and Experience

Graduate degree in nursing education and/or nursing administration
Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or Nursing Professional Development Certification
Experience as an ANCC Nurse Planner
More than 3 years experience in providing adult education, staff development, or faculty development.
