Institutional Research Analyst Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201904261361 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $61,600 - $121,200 Position Information Reporting to the Dean of the Graduate School of Education (GSOE), the Institutional Research Analyst oversees, manages and leads the development, selection, implementation, systematic evaluation, refinement, and data-driven decision making in GSOE programs, and assessment system to increase program completion of an academically talented and diverse pool of students. The incumbent implements school-wide policies and procedures for evaluating and assessing program learning outcomes at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Key responsibilities include: Monitoring requirements for accreditation related to assessment and facilitate schoolwide practices to ensure compliance (e.g. annual assessment reports, assessment of core competencies, learning outcomes, collection of student program data, etc.). Works closely with Dean, Associate Deans and Assistant Deans to support the development and implementation of learning outcomes and sustainable assessment plans. Collaboratively works with campus to support, evaluate, and improve assessment practices for both the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Graduate School of Education. This includes reviewing and improving program learning outcomes, assessment templates to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with accreditation standards, reviewing and improving assessment rubrics, using assessment rubrics to evaluate program learning outcome reports, and providing feedback to programs, school and the campus. Serves on campus committees to review annual assessment summary reports, identifies patterns of concern, recommends program and process changes, and ensures assessment is continuously improving. Also reviews accreditation reports, develops and implements recommended changes for assessment practices. Provides support to help improve the effectiveness of campus assessment efforts and achieve organizational goals. Participates in other accreditation activities (e.g. site visits). Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Advanced degree in related area, with coursework in social science methods, education, psychology, evaluation or research and survey design Preferred
Experience Experience Requirement Experience evaluating and assessing performance in an academic unit. Preferred Experience in supporting and implementing continuous improvement processes Preferred Experience reporting, developing, and interpreting materials for accreditation activities, and participating in accreditation visits. Preferred 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
Minimum Requirements Understanding of organizational rules and regulations.
Strong ability to present information in a clear concise manner both in writing and verbally.
Able to provide good judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
Requires general knowledge in data collection and analysis techniques; statistics or social science research techniques; knowledge of common organization-specific computer application programs; knowledge of organizational principles and procedures involved in handling sensitive data (for example, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, or FERPA).
Thorough active listening, critical thinking, good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of academic assessment processes and activities.
