It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.

Job Duties

The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, is seeking an academic general pediatrician to join the faculty of the Division of General Pediatrics.

The academic general pediatrician reports to the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics through the Division Chief of General Pediatrics and is responsible for providing medical services to infants, children, and adolescents in the outpatient clinics and the mother/baby unit at Vidant Medical Center.

The academic general pediatrician will provide excellent medical education for residents, medical students, nursing students, and other learners.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Fixed term and tenure track positions available at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

Minimum Education/Experience

Must have a terminal (MD or DO) degree from an appropriately accredited institution.

Must be board certified or eligible to sit for the certifying examination in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
