Director of Health Sciences
Wells College, located on beautiful Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York, seeks an energetic innovative educator as the
Director of Health Sciences. Reporting to the Provost, the Director of Health Sciences is a staff position with teaching responsibilities. The director would oversee programming related to preparing students for health professions and, along with faculty in the majors and the pre-health professions committee, serve
as an advisor to those students who wish to further their education in one of the healthcare fields. As part of this programming, the director would
develop agreements with healthcare providers and facilities that would provide experiential learning opportunities for students. The director would pursue articulation agreements with health profession schools and other affiliations. The director would run the Rural Health Immersion and CARE Programs and develop additional programming related to exploration of healthcare professions and preparation of graduate and professional school applications. Requirements include a Master’s Degree in a health-science related field; experience with college students; experience
building partnerships with educational institutions and healthcare organizations; strong written and oral communication skills; successful project
management experience and proven leadership skills; knowledge of and commitment to core values of liberal arts colleges; ability to work independently with little supervision; and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
