Overview

This position assists the Distributed Computing Support group in Support Services with a wide variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Classroom in a Box environment by completing a thorough inventory of all equipment, performing hardware tests, detecting, reporting and coordinating all hardware repairs, refreshing images of all computers to work in a dual boot environment.
  • Help manage department computers by keeping inventory, updating and upgrading when needed.
  • Assist in the planning of all department meetings by finding and acquiring meeting locations.
  • Update content on SCAD/DCS website so that information is current and accurate. Updates include meeting locations, times, training opportunities, SCAD/DCS contact information and SCAD/DCS news.
  • Help with SN@P tickets, moving of computer equipment from one office to another.
  • Assist with setup of training classes and meetings, ordering meals, booking rooms, help with conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • and administrative task as needed.
  • Research and organize OSS host database entries, deleting, renaming and modifying entries where needed.
  • Administrative support as needed, help with ordering of equipment, working on google doc’s, mail merges etc.
  • Assist SCAD/DCS in other departments with tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications
  • Able to troubleshoot both Mac OS and Windows 10 machines.
  • Ability to both independently manage time and balance priorities, while also working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment with attention to detail and flexibility to respond to shifting priorities.

  • Must be able to multitask and manage the priorities of several departments.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, twist bend and work in awkward position.
  • Experience troubleshooting Mobile devices, Smart Phones (iPhone, iPad etc.) and tablets.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for collaborating with stakeholders
  • Able to learn to modify websites in Drupal.
