Mount Saint Mary College (MSMC) seeks a dynamic and experienced leader who can develop and articulate a vision and strategy for achieving and maintaining the mission of the School of Business. As the inaugural Dean, this individual must be driven by a passion and high level of commitment to lead the School to enhance its reputation and expand enrollment through collaboration with community and campus partnerships.

Description of the College
Mount Saint Mary College, rated by U.S. News & World Report as a top-tier regional university, is an independent, co-educational, comprehensive liberal arts institution of Catholic Dominican heritage overlooking the Hudson River, about 60 miles north of New York City. The college enrolls a diverse population of 2350 full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate students and enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its education, nursing, science, and business programs. Description of the School of Business
The School of Business, accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), consists of undergraduate and graduate programs with a total enrollment of more than 360 students. The School’s programs include the traditional undergraduate four year programs in business management and accounting. Currently, students pursuing these programs also have the option of concentrating in one of three areas: finance, marketing and sports management. In addition, MSMC School of Business students can elect to stay for a fifth year of study and obtain a Master’s in Business Administration in either management or accounting. Our graduate students pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration also have the option of completing a concentration in healthcare management.

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Dean serves as the senior administrative and academic leader of the School of Business.

Responsibilities
•Commit to the School of Business and its mission regarding excellence in curriculum, program expansion, and support academic and professional growth of faculty
•Provide visionary and collaborative leadership in programming, research, teaching, and service to the community and college
•With the faculty, develop and implement a strategic plan for the School of Business
•Monitor trends in business education and seek opportunities to enhance programming
•Provide oversight of curriculum development for undergraduate and graduate programs
•Work in conjunction with Admissions to attract high quality students eager to enter the workforce with skills to meet the needs of the business world
•Serve as liaison to external constituencies including professional organizations and educational institutions
•Develop strong relationships with the tri-state business community
•Collaborate with Institutional Advancement for fundraising and grant writing
•Actively engage with students and alumni
•Expand internal and external collaboration with the established Business Advisory Council
•Prepare budget projections and manage the School budget
•Assume responsibility for the accreditation process

Qualifications
•A record of distinguished academic and professional achievement
•Experience in higher education
•Master’s degree required; terminal degree (strongly preferred)

Founded by the Sisters of Saint Dominic in 1960, the Mount has been an academic presence here in Newburgh since 1883. The college's roots in education, and in the training of educators, go even further back to the 14th century and Saint Dominic.

We offer our students an affordable liberal arts education with 50 academic programs and 3 graduate degree programs. Our strong programs in business, education, the health professions, media arts and the social sciences are linked to high career growth fields. Location. Newburgh, New York. The Mount is conveniently located in the Mid-Hudson Valley, midway between New York City and New York's capital city, Albany. The Mount is in Newburgh in Orange County, New York, on a beautiful campus that overlooks the western banks of the Hudson River. It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and our park activities offer so many ways to explore the natural environment.

Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.

Faculty. Students learn from our faculty, the majority of whom hold a Ph.D. or the highest terminal degree in their field. Our Student/Faculty Ratio is 17 students:1 faculty member.

Athletic teams. The Mount offers Men's Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, and Track and Field, and Women's Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Tennis, Track and Field, and Volleyball.
