Allegheny College, a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications for an Assistant Sports Information Director. This is an eleven-month position that includes basic medical coverage and a competitive salary. The ideal candidate is seeking experience in college sports information and professional development opportunities will be provided as a part of this program.
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the critical skills of this job. Experience in the collegiate sports information field is preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, work ethic and motivation. A working knowledge of desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite) is highly desirable as is experience with StatCrew and video editing software (Premiere Pro). Must be able to meet multiple deadlines with high quality results and be available to work nights and weekends.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications with the organization and direction of all aspects of the athletic department communications. Serve as a liaison between the department and the media as the primary contact for several of Allegheny’s athletic programs; write, design and edit publications including media guides and game programs; direct the program for nomination and publicity of student-athletes for various honors, awards and special recognition; manage student staff; and assist with the daily maintenance of the College’s athletic website. Successful candidates should understand the Division III philosophy and thrive in an extremely motivated, team-oriented atmosphere. Event management or other projects will be assigned by the Athletic Director.
