Job description

Global Initiatives:  Global Learning Coordinator position provides leadership, advising, and assistance to support embedding global learning outcomes and assessment into curricular and co-curricular global and intercultural programming in Global Initiatives and to support faculty intercultural development programming.

Program Development. Support high impact program development for credit and not for credit global learning and cultural immersion in study abroad and study away, as well as international student programming.

Support Cultural Transition Curriculum Development and Programming. Pre-departure, and post-program reflection programming support, consulting, and development for study abroad.

Support Global Programs Curriculum Integration. Provide support for developing transformative globally focused education abroad curriculum that meets Global Miami Plan and other institutional requirements. Develop programmatic goals. Evaluate and assess program effectiveness.

Faculty Development. In collaboration with academic departments and divisions, as well as the Center for Teaching Excellence, design and deliver intercultural development opportunities for faculty and staff leading travel study programs.

Assessment. In consultation across divisions, develop and implement intercultural and global learning assessment plan for travel education and student transition and development programs. 

Require: 

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience supporting the development of internationalized and globally focused post-secondary curriculum.
  • Intercultural and global competence assessment expertise.
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task and direct multiple on-going projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.

    Desire:   

  • Experience studying or living abroad.
  • Experience leading study abroad programs outside of the US.
  • Technologically mediated instructional design experience.
  • Universal design of learning experience.
