The Communications Associate provides administrative support for implementing the communications plans of the Reves Center for International Studies and the international events and initiatives of the university.

Required Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrated ability to work and multi-task effectively in a complex and fast-paced setting.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing tasks and deadlines, complete work with accuracy and work with diverse constituencies. Demonstrated excellent writing, editing, research and time management skills.
Strong organizational and technology skills.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience in communications or public relations is preferred.

Conditions of Employment:

Occasional evening/weekend work may be required.

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year.
