The Manager is responsible for supporting the active directory, virtualization, operating systems, server troubleshooting, security and management within Information Technology Operations for all operational related issues. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

•Manages IT Infrastructure group to ensure systems operate at appropriate levels of service
•Assists in troubleshooting and provides technical support for multiple supported applications and systems
•Works closely with other IT groups to coordinate system and software upgrades and installations of new products
•Maintains documentation and standards to help direct the activities of the group
•Provides operational leadership and project management oversight
•Oversees activities of outside contractors to ensure contract terms are met in a timely manner
•Provides routine management reports
•Performs other duties as assigned

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field and eight (8) years of progressive experience; or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field and four (4) years of progressive experience, including experience in a supervisor role managing technical staff.
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives and policies and procedures
•Demonstrated supervisory experience in Information Technology Operations
•Possess strong project management skills with the ability to ensure completion of department initiatives and recommendations
•Knowledge of related Microsoft (Windows Server, AD, SQL, IIS) technologies
•Knowledge of related Infrastructure (storage, virtualization, backups) technologies
•Possess familiarity with the internet and generally available Internet services such as FTP, HTTP, SMTP, DHCP and DNS
•Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies
•Possess strong project management skills with the ability to ensure completion of department initiatives and recommendations
•Strong written and oral communication skills
•Ability to apply effective leadership skills to direct technical staff
•Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations with partial visibility
•Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
