The Associate Director of Finance and Accounting Operations acts as a primary operational and analytical resource for the Associate Controller, independently resolving time-sensitive and critical requests, problem solving, and trouble-shooting issues. This individual will be a visionary to improve financial processes and financial reporting communication. The Associate Director position is responsible for the accounting operations and administration of over $100M in revenue which is critical to supporting Wharton’s programs and initiatives. This position manages the completion of the monthly financial closing process, timely and accurate reporting, and analytical analysis for Wharton’s business units. This includes understanding and applying accounting standards as well as monitoring, updating and communicating the financial position of those programs. The Associate Director provides leadership and management during procedure restructuring, software transitions, including training, as well as managing and streamlining reports and analyses. Given the custom and complex arrangements that are common, the individual in this position must possess a combination of big picture, intellectual curiosity, detailed thinking, and exceptional communication skills.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required and 5-7 years of experience. Demonstrated strong financial, analytical and modeling skills. Demonstrated decision making and problem solving ability as well as excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service oriented. Capability to independently manage multiple projects from design through final presentation. Ability to work under demanding timelines. Ability to see the big picture while effectively analyzing details.
