The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the Lab of Prof. Rachel Letteri.

This position will primarily involve synthesis and characterization of peptides and polymer-peptide conjugates as therapeutics.  Additional responsibilities will include mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, writing papers and proposals, presenting research at lab and collaborative research meetings, and instrument training and maintenance.  The highest standards of ethics and laboratory safety will be expected at all times.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, or a related field. The candidate should have experience in polymer and peptide chemistry, and associated characterization techniques – preferably in high performance liquid chromatography, spectroscopic characterization, controlled radical polymerization techniques, and bioconjugation chemistry.
