The Director of International Students, Scholars, and Programs guides the university in supporting its international community of students, faculty, staff, visiting scholars, and their families. He/She achieves this through oversight of and expertise in immigration services; programs, advocacy, and outreach; and scholarships and aid. The director builds collaborative relationships with campus partners and external agencies to ensure that the university’s international community is supported consistent with the mission of the unit. He/she stays abreast of best practices in the field and develops staff to maintain high standards in service and programs.

Required Qualifications

•Master’s degree in International education, higher education administration, TESOL, or a related field
•Significant experience (typically five or more years) in international higher education administration with a focus on programs and services for international populations
•Significant experience (typically five or more years) in immigration regulatory practice, specifically with non-immigrant employment classifications such as H1B, O1, TN, and familiarity with employment based permanent residency
•Working knowledge of immigration regulations for the F1 and J1 non-immigrant classifications
•Experience with program and unit budgeting, staff supervision, and development
•Commitment to ongoing professional development through active participation in professional associations
•Strong communication skills
•US citizenship or permanent residency required for role as PDSO and RO

Preferred Qualifications

•PhD in education or a related field, or JD
•Experience with scholarship administration, alumni engagement, and donor relations
•Experience as a DSO and/or ARO
•Experience living, working or studying abroad
•Knowledge of a language other than English
•Experience with SEVIS, Banner and sunapsis
