Job Description
Position Summary:
 
Acts as a project manager in partnership with School of Medicine, Faculty, Department/Divisional leadership, Private Diagnostic Clinic (PDC), and Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) leadership.  Overall position success is dependent upon effectively directing complex project related initiatives that are critical to the success of the Department.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
 
 
30%– Neurology Growth Initiatives
 

  • Partner with Epilepsy physician leadership to spearhead development of Duke Epilepsy center from a local center to a Southeast Regional and National Center.
  • Assists Administrator in executing developed strategic plan to move Duke Epilepsy center forward.
  • Partner with Human Resources of recruitment and hiring of clinical Epileptologist, research coordinator, Advanced Practice Provider, Nurse Clinician, Social Worker and Dietician.
  • Partner with Health System to obtain appropriate equipment and space.
  • Partner with leadership and execute marketing strategies including public service seminars, medical education seminars, website enhancement and internet visibility.
  • In addition, to Epilepsy, it is anticipated there will be other similar growth initiatives to be executed.

    30%– Project Management
     
  • Lead project specific efforts as directed by Chair and Chief Administrative Officer including key physician recruitment, database management and coordination of events at national meetings. 
  • Assists with improvement projects for access management and provides regular feedback to leadership regarding the status of projects.
  • Lead information gathering, data assimilation and preparation of Departments journey to obtain Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center grant.
  • Maintain records, evaluate clinical and administrative space.
  • Other project related duties as assigned.

    20% - Clinical Growth Strategies
     
  • Partner with Vice Chair of Clinical Operations to develop models and strategies of how to practice medicine in a new value based care model.
  • Evaluate current market share, payer mix and clinical models to make recommendations that achieve Department and PDC goals of patient access.
  • Partner with Chief Administrative Officer to modify existing provider compensation models to drive change from volume based targets and metrics to value based targets and metrics.

    20% – Department Leadership/Management
     
  • Attends and directly contributes at meetings with School of Medicine, faculty, clinic staff, Department/Divisional, DCRI, PDC, and PRMO leadership.  Attends and contributes at Department Divisional and group faculty meetings.
  • Assists with improvement and provides regular feedback to leadership regarding the status of projects

    Work requires a general business background generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business related field.Experience
