Sr. Executive Director of Development Operations Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 201903259641 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $106,000 - $208,800 Position Information Budgeted amount for this position is $130,000 - $145,000. Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, the Sr. Executive Director of Development Operations (EDDO) will lead UC Riverside Development in establishing best practice operating policies, procedures, and strategy for the Development Operations program. The EDDO will work closely with the Development senior leadership team to advance major strategic fundraising and support the overall goals of UC Riverside Advancement. They will provide leadership and strategic oversight of the Development Operations program, working collaboratively with the Associate Vice Chancellor and Development leadership team in planning and achieving Development's goals. The Development Operations program includes Foundation and Donor Relations, Constituent/Prospect Research and Data Analytics, and Annual Giving. University of California (UC) career employees who have passed their probationary period and received a “successfully meets performance expectations” rating or above on their last performance evaluation will receive priority consideration for this position. If a qualified pool of candidates from the UC system is not identified, qualified external candidates may be considered at the discretion of the hiring department. Experience Experience Requirement 8 - 13 years of related experience. Required Demonstrated leadership in working with key volunteer organizations, including advisory board members and/or major donors. Required Minimum of five years demonstrated fundraising or similar leadership experience in a higher education institution. Preferred Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred Previous Donor Relations experience. Preferred Demonstrated experience in developing and/or advising fundraising strategy, working with an institution's advancement leadership. Preferred Previous experience in major gift and annual giving fundraising. Required Previous experience in Development Operations. Preferred Experience working in the University of California system. Minimum Requirements Excellent leadership/management skills to select, train, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills, including excellent political acumen skills, to build and maintain effective working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.
Excellent knowledge of the campus, its achievements, vision, mission, goals, objectives, applicable policies, infrastructure and current issues of concern and knowledge of issues of concern for higher education generally.
Excellent knowledge of leadership/management concepts, procedures, techniques and best practices.
Excellent knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor and public relations including advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc.
Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, persuasion/negotiation skills and marketing skills.
Experience in annual giving fundraising and implementation.
Experience with prospect identification, predictive and data analytics, and individual and foundation prospect research.
Preferred Qualifications Must be able to demonstrate independent decision-making ability and sound judgment in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in developing gift agreements and other related documents.

Possess an intuitive sense of the large enterprise combined with a practical, project orientation.

Excellent skills in meeting predetermined goals and objectives, including securing gifts and meeting fundraising goals.

The ability to inspire confidence as well as to motivate others, and the ability to excel in the framework of a highly complex research institution with significant aspirations.

Knowledge of a broad range of academic and institutional issues related to a major research university environment.

Demonstrated leadership in working with key volunteer organizations, including advisory board members and/or major donors to the schools/colleges.

Development operations experience.

Experience and proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-function teams.

Experience working in the University of California system.
