POSITION SUMMARY

The Donor Relations and Events Coordinator is responsible for executing special events and implementing cultivation and stewardship projects for the advancement office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Event Coordination: showrunner for events including but not limited to: recruiting & managing staff & volunteers, set ups, food ordering, invitation process, event publication management, event breakdown/clean up process, event follow up
    • Homecoming & Family Weekend
    • Scholarship Luncheon
    • Spring Events
    • VIP Events
    • Other events as they arise
  • Donor Stewardship:
    • Student appreciation connections
    • Other creative donor stewardship efforts
  • Donor Cultivation Logistics Support: Supporting experiences and committees to accomplish engagement goals. Typically, a tour or committee will be identified by Trustees and other advancement staff, and this position is responsible for the logistical support of the committee and tours as needed.

  • Publication Project Management: manage systems, committees, information, and editing process to ensure timely and high quality publications. Set up regular meetings, manage deadlines, and coordinate writers, illustrators, and photographers for:
    • Magazine
    • President’s Report
    • Other publications as they arise
  • Administrative Support
    • Email and letter campaign support
    • Support creation & production of event materials
    • Other institutional administrative & logistics support as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Track record of successful, complex project implementation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database navigation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Event management and production experience
  • Background in working with staff, students and volunteers
  • Experience with alumni programs, fundraising, marketing or related higher education programs such as student activities
  • Experience with Warren Wilson College campus
  • Marketing and public relations skills, especially with regard to social media
  • Other experience with programs like Raiser’s Edge, Adobe Suite, Canva
