Applications are being accepted for the position of Admission Counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Admission. The Undergraduate Admission office attracts, recruits, and enrolls a highly qualified, talented, and diverse student body in a manner that supports the university's well-being.

The Admission Counselor travels to high schools, college fairs, and other recruitment events; communicates with prospective students and their families, alumni, faculty, and other members of the University community; assists with the planning and implementation of on-and off-grounds recruiting activities; assists and counsels students throughout the admission process; hosts informational presentations on the University and undergraduate admission process; and evaluates applications for undergraduate admission to the University.

  • Help design and participate in recruitment programming.
  • Serve on the Admissions Committee.
  • Develop public presentations to promote the University, and travel to college fairs and conferences to represent the University.
  • Provide feedback and advice to prospective students and their families, often fielding inquiries passed on by Counselors.
  • Supervise support staff and Admissions Counselors.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Preferred Requirements:

Experience: Up to four years of higher education admissions or student services experience. Experience with Slate or Technosolutions software.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $34,000 to $37,000 annually

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
