Farmer School of Business:  Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor (possible multiple positions) to teach multiple sections of BUS 102:  Foundations of Business Communication and possibly sections of BUS 284:  Advanced Business Communication.  This position is a full-time, benefits-eligible position.

BUS 102 is part of the required First-Year Integrated Core (FYIC) curriculum for all Farmer School of Business majors.  The FYIC is an innovative four-course block that teaches students critical skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, computational thinking & coding, ethical thinking, communication, and collaboration.  As a BUS 102 teacher, you will be a part of a faculty who work together as a team to integrate these key skills across all four FYIC classes (BUS 101:  Foundations of Business; BUS 102:  Foundations of Business Communication; ESP 103:  Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Thinking; and BUS 104:  Introduction to Computational Thinking for Business).  For more information on the FYIC, please visit:

The BUS 102:  Foundations of Business Communication course focuses on an integrated approach to teaching both oral and written business communication.  BUS 102 addresses the foundations of rhetoric, composing and delivery processes (including team composing), and some common short-form genres that complement and extend student learning in other foundation courses.  BUS 284 directly builds from BUS 102 and focuses on advanced rhetorical considerations, digital and intercultural communication, more extensive team communications, and research-based business writing and presenting.  Both courses engage students in case-based learning.

PhD (for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor); Master’s degree (for appointment as Instructor) in rhetoric and writing, communication, business, or related fields.  Position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
