Job Description:
SUMMARY Provides a broad range of personal counseling services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides a broad range of personal counseling services to a diverse and multicultural student population Delivers presentations and support group services to the campus community as requestedPerforms other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGDoctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology requiredMust be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of OhioMinimum two years of demonstrated personal counseling experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIESPossess comprehensive knowledge of psychology and mental health theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focusPossess understanding and knowledge of local community/regional agencies and familiarity on how to utilize and connect students to these resourcesAbility to adapt to dynamic multi-campus organizational work environmentsPossess familiarity and embraces the mission of the collegePossess strong organizational and time-management skillsPossess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Ability to foster a team environment and work collaborativelyAbility to research effectively Works accurately with great attention to detailExcellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationshipsAbility to effectively accept direction from multiple levels of the College in various departments Demonstrated basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivityPossess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population CRITICAL COMPETENCIESService FocusCommunicationsQuality of Work VERY IMPORTANT COMPETENCIESCollaborationAdaptability IMPORTANT COMPETENCIESTime Utilization Continuous Improvement PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAININGMinimum one year of demonstrated personal counseling experience in a higher education environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS(The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
