The Multi-Media Specialist develops, designs, and implements a variety of communication materials for both print and digital publications in support of the Marketing Department's communications objectives. Areas of work include graphic design, branding, advertising communications, web imagery and layout design, and other projects that translate marketing objectives into creative strategies. Assists in developing and managing the College's branding efforts, as well as supporting public relations, social media, and other outreach efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists in the creation and production of a variety of communications products including but not limited to brochures, posters, banners, signage, flyers, reports and presentations, web projects and marketing materials.

Responds to and fulfills requests for creative support under tight deadlines, and coordinates presentation of visuals with internal departments and divisions, as requested by supervisor.

Works closely with the marketing department and clients to collaborate on the development of advertising and marketing materials, other communications projects that meet the needs of the College, and to discuss upcoming proposals and campaigns.

Conducts interviews with Terra State students, faculty, staff and community members as needed; photographs subjects as needed; performs extensive research of source materials to obtain and verify facts; analyzes sources for accuracy of information and most effective approach to material.

Works with outside vendors to order printed materials, and demonstrates a solid understanding of production techniques, options, and project timing.

Develops creative suggestions by gathering relevant information to provide the supervisor. Incorporates design solutions to include recommended aesthetic elements such as typography, imagery, color palettes and messaging.

Brainstorms with marketing team to develop key messages and visual concepts. Reviews personal design work for accuracy and work with internal stakeholders to ensure quality control.

Oversees content on the Terra State app including the announcements, push notifications and calendar.

Tracks and archives media coverage and calculates earned media to report to the Marketing Department.

Assists with the archival process of published news articles and maintains the College's media information bulletin board.

Contributes to the College's news media strategies and assists with campus photography, events, and activities as needed.

Tracks and reports status of projects to the Marketing Manager on a weekly basis.

Creates and supports a culture that is in alignment with guiding principles.

Assists with taking and editing photos and video.

Regular evening and weekend work required as need, related to College or Community events.

Completes other duties as assigned.
Other Skills and Abilities:•Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective task management skills
•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects within quick turnaround timeframes
•Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom) in a professional capacity
•Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
•Basic knowledge of print and digital production
•Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and design elements to create a balanced composition in any medium
•Understanding of branding and its application across different media
•Experience in coordinating production with print and other specialty vendors including getting estimates, and preparing print-ready artwork.
•Ability to interact effectively in multidisciplinary teams and settings
•Experience with multimedia applications, advanced motion graphics, and video editing a plus
•Experience in a Windows and Mac environments for design work and other duties.
Required Education and/or Work Experience:•Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a visual arts, visual communication, graphic design, commercial art, or digital media program or related design field preferred.
•One year of experience in graphic design work preferred.
•Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word and MS Excel at intermediate level and MS PowerPoint and MS Access) required.
•Ability to utilize computer and various software applications.
•Ability to interact well with faculty, staff, contractors, vendors.
•Ability to multitask in a dynamic, changing environment desired.
•Ability to work as a team player, and collaborate with colleagues.
•Exceptional verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
•Must possess confidentiality and good judgment skills along with independent and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to meet deadlines desired.
