Description:

The College of Natural Sciences, Undergraduate Education, area of Diversity & Student Programs, seeks applications for a part-time non-tenure-track position for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Diversity & Student Programs area offers a Concentration in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. This instructor will teach the courses associated with the Concentration, including Civil Discourse and the Concentration Capstone. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Concentration is comprised of coursework and events to promote dialogue and guide students through a variety of experiences aimed at exploring and expanding understanding of complex ideas and issues. The goal of this credential is not to indicate mastery in these areas, but rather to demonstrate purposeful and thoughtful guided exploration and self-reflection around themes related to diversity and inclusion.  More information about the Concentration can be found here: https://cns.utexas.edu/diversity/dei-concentration

Additional duties may include curriculum development, outreach, service/committee assignments, and assisting with development of the Concentration into a transcriptable certificate. We are committed to building a diverse faculty and are interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and inclusion in higher education through their teaching and service.


Qualifications:

Applicants must hold Master’s degree or Doctorate in a relevant field from an accredited institution of higher education, and equivalent relevant professional experience and teaching experience.

Candidates should provide evidence of teaching excellence and their ability to teach in a multicultural, multi-ethnic university setting.
