Basic Function

Function as manager of EMS program’s on-campus training lab including equipment procurement, maintenance, training and supply purchase as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages EMS program’s on-campus training lab including equipment procurement, maintenance, and supply purchase as needed. Teach in all levels of EMS skills labs and/or lectures, either as lead or assisting instructor. Set up EMS lab equipment in preparation for daily EMS lab sessions. Manage inventory of EMS Department durable equipment and coordinate ETF purchases with campus inventory control. Participate in MEC/EMS outreach efforts, including lab tours and demonstrations. Participate with EMS faculty in curricular development. Assist with state and national test site administration. Work with other EMS program personnel in the development, validation and implementation of EMS Scenarios that meet the NREMT Portfolio requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Current National Registry Paramedic certification and current Virginia Paramedic certification, or eligible to obtain via reciprocity; Provider certifications: BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS Provider, PALS Provider,
Several years of experience as an EMS field provider (volunteer or career) .

Preferred Qualifications

Instructorship credentials of BLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, ITLS Instructor, NVEMS Council EMT-B Evaluator, Certified Virginia OEMS Education Coordinator.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires knowledge of both basic and advanced life support practices and procedures. Requires ability to organize and maintain clinical supply
levels.
Requires ability to effectively collaborate with both EMS program faculty and staff.
As the position also involves frequent instruction, it requires the ability to effectively engage with program students within a clinical lab training setting.
