Instructional Design Manager
Act as a key team member in the successful development and delivery of high- quality online, blended, in-person, and flipped learning experiences for women in business. Build and improve on a suite of Executive Education programs. Assess and analyze session effectiveness and make recommendations applying trends in learning technologies and instructional design.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop learning objectives, structure learning activities, plan and manage course development, and deliver high-quality online, blended, in-person, and flipped learning experiences. Write effective copy, instructional text, visual aids, guides, and audio and video scripts.
Devise modes of assessment to measure and analyze the effectiveness of sessions. Provide feedback on the effective and ineffective practices to inform future sessions. Utilize development tools and software. Research, vet, and make recommendations on new digital tools, software, and environments. Analyze and apply trends in learning technologies and instructional design.
Develop knowledge and expertise on Exec Ed mission, values, plans for growth, and current programs. Work with Exec Ed team to assess, qualify, and build program opportunities.
Establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines. Articulate project goals and scope to stakeholders, track course development, coordinate review and feedback, and report on overall project health. Accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.
Actively participate in process improvements. Develop and meet budget(s). Other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience: Bachelor's degree, plus 3-7 years of relevant experience in developing training experiences, or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Experience with building educational programs for adults and a master’s degree in educational technology or instructional design preferred.
Skills: Outstanding communication, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, judgment, writing, and presentation skills. A background in accessibility, usability, and experience design, information design and communications, as well as knowledge of instructional design models, strategies, and best practices. Creative and strategic thinker able to develop experiential exercises to meet learning goals. Ability to build trust and productive working relationships with individuals at all levels. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in an environment with constantly changing client needs. Ability to make data-driven decisions; good judgment with confidential information. Demonstrated ability to develop high standards of performance and professionalism to lead projects from beginning to end while meeting revenue mandates. Proficiency with Google G Suite, Microsoft Office, design tools, and multiple LMS platforms. Basic knowledge of streaming audio and video, file types and formats, and experience with online conference software. Strong work ethic, curiosity, and a passion for advancing women in business.
