Position Summary/Purpose: 

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at North Park University seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the Masters of Counseling Psychology (MACP) program to serve as the Director of Clinical Training at the rank of Assistant Professor.  This is a 10-month, tenure-track position to begin in August 2019.  This position will also lead the undergraduate counseling psychology program in SPS.  The School of Professional Studies is seeking a candidate who will contribute to the continued growth of the program especially as it seeks CACREP accreditation.

In addition to teaching at least 12 semester hours per year, the administrative responsibilities are as follows:

1.  Develop and maintain relationships with potential internship sites and clinical supervisors

2.  Maintain and update the list of internship sites and clinical supervisors

3.  Advise and mentor students during the application process and internship experience

4.  Maintain and update the Internship Handbook

5.  Develop Affiliation Agreements with Internship sites as needed.

6. Approve clinical placements and monitor completion of internship requirements.

7. Obtain regular student evaluations of internship sites and supervisor evaluations of interns.

8.. Monitor state requirements for internship and licensure.

9.  Other responsibilities related to training and internships.

10. Coordinate the undergraduate counseling psychology program which includes the practicum component.

Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate and graduate students, implementation of a scholarly agenda, and participation in university wide service.  Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Essential Qualifications:

A terminal degree in Counselor Education

Previous teaching experience in higher education

Possess a clear understanding of and personal commitment to North Park University’s mission of Christian higher education.

Desired Qualifications:

Evidence of professional practice in counseling

Licensure as a Professional Counselor

Graduate of a CACREP accredited program

Active participation in professional counseling organizations
